Honeymoon!!

So if you called me within the last 6 days you got a weird message that said " the customer is unavailable" or something like that. Well I was. We have spent the last six days in paradise!!!!

Last Sunday at 4:00 in the morning we left this snow crap and flew to beautiful, 80 degree, sunny Cancun. First off, I should mention that we pulled the Honeymoon card and got bumped up to first class on our first flight. It was AWESOME!! We arrived at our resort and of course immediately made our way to dinner and the pool bar.

Monday: (Christmas Eve) We laid around the pool and beach and drank lots of cervaza's ( that's BEER!) In the evening we took the Captain Hook dinner cruise and met up with a really fun couple from Wisconsin. He owns a bar and she was a guidance counselor, so between education and booze we totally hit it off. The night proceeded with great entertainment (The MC Captain Hook reminded us of a Victor Continentals slightly more tame, pirate brother.) and lots of tequila shots and drinks. We had a blast!

Tuesday: (Christmas) Needless to say ( see tequila shots above) We weren't feeling so hot in the morning. We had no activities planned for this day since everything was closed for Christmas. It was perfect. We laid around at the pool and on the beach until around 2:00pm. At that point we left the resort to shop and found a charming flea market. After shopping.....I bet you can guess.......More pool time. In the evening we had Christmas dinner at the resorts Italian restaurant. It was an amazing 5 course meal. I had Lamb as my entree since that was what my parents made for Christmas dinner, it connected me to home a bit. ( Although it was such different weather, it hardly felt like Christmas)

Wednesday: DOLPHIN SWIM DAY!!!! I had been looking forward to this for so many months and it was everything I had hoped for and more. When we booked this in October we thought that we only paid for the Dolphins. When we arrived we were thrilled to discover that our purchase also covered admission to the water park where the dolphins were located. the water park had a wave pool, kids pool, lazy river and 4 water slides! The dolphins were incredible and first and then we spent the day on slides, in the waves and eating bad American pizza and great Mexican tacos. That evening we went to the Resorts Chinese restaurant and enjoyed a 6 course meal and lots of Sake.

Thursday: We woke up early and walked to our Isla Muejeras Cruise. It was beautiful and sunny as we loaded the boat and made our way to the Island. The sun didn't last long, that was the last time we would see it all day. The Island was fun and the company we were with had a great little beach area where we played in the water and ate a snack. At around 12:00 we went snorkeling. It was amazing, As we were looking down at the fish and the reef we felt the rain on our backs. Eric and I held hands as we navigated the waves and it was perfectly beautiful and romantic. The rain cooled things off a bit and it was the first day that I was actually cold. We had chicken noodle soup for lunch and sprite ( this was a must since swallowing a couple mouthfuls of seawater defiantly made us sick). We then reloaded the boat, in the rain, and went to the north shore of the Island to shop. On our way back to Cancun we met another fun couple. The husband was Swedish and the wife was Chinese, sometimes it was hard to understand them but they kept bringing us beers so we were cool. When we got back to the hotel ( after I had a couple of Rum and Sprites, bad idea) We barely made it to dinner and crashed out early. What an adventure!

Friday: We had to leave (BOO!) but we spend an hour or so on the Beach in the morning and then headed for the airport. The flights back were fine, we tried the honeymoon card on the both and the first flight we got the exit row ( lots of leg room) and the second we had a mean little man who told us we could upgrade for $100 each. NO WAY, so we slept the whole way. We arrived home from our great adventure at 3:00am.

For more stores, yes....there are more....... and funnier...... HANG OUT WITH US! We (mostly me) want to show off our pictures.

Thanks for your patience on updates. One of my New Year's resolutions is to update once a week-every other week.

I really thought I was going to have to fly down there to kidnap Neuty from a Mexican prison. Glad that didn't happen, and that you guys had an AWESOME time in God's country! Welcome home!!!

Well now, I have to say this looked like a really great trip. I'm glad you both enjoyed the time, sadly I see the KC visor made an appearance, but I'll forgive my boy for his transgression.

I've got to go, there's a cat meowing outside that I need to scare off. I need total peace and quiet when I'm working from home.
